Grand inauguration of the ICE Kraków Conference Centre took place on the 16th-20th of October 2014. The newly built Centre is a world class, state-of-the-art facility, meeting the international congress organizations’ requirements as well as the highest acoustic and scenic technology standards. The project of the Krakow studio Krzysztof Ingarden, Jacek Ewy Architects sp. with Japanese design consultant Arata Isozaki & Associates of Tokyo was chosen in an international architectural competition.
The Auditorium Hall houses an audience space ready to accommodate more than 2000 viewers, which makes it the biggest hall in Cracow. It was the place, where the Zbigniew Preisner’s inauguration concert “2014. Here and now” (“2014. Tu i teraz”) created especially for the occasion, was conducted.
During the realized project, the P.S. TEATR company was responsible for delivering and installation of the stage lighting of the whole building, as well as delivery and installation of the stage machinery systems.
The newly emerging facility holds more than 36.000 m2 of conference space. ICE Kraków will hold three main halls: Auditorium, Theatrical and Chaber, housing the maximum of – respectively – 2100, 600 and 300 viewers. Additionally, it will also have a complex of 32 conference halls fitted with adjustable sliding walls, glazed 3-level foyer with the view on the Wawel castle, multifunctional showroom and the auxiliary space.
P.S. TEATR has fitted the Auditorium Hall with stage lighting system, including: 10 x DTS NICK NRG 1201 FPR with a 8° – 50° zoom optics, 6 x Vari*Lite VL3515 SPOT, 16 x PC Selecon Arena and 28 x Selecon Rama luminaires, as well as 36 x Spotlight FIGURA ZOOM 25 profile luminaires with a 9° – 25° and 17° – 36° optics, 1 Spotlight VEDETTE 2500W COMPACT luminaire.
The Theatrical Room has been equipped in: DTS NICK NRG 1201 FPR x 8, Vari*Lite VL3515 SPOT x 6, PC luminaires: Selecon Arena x 8, Selecon Rama x 12, Spotlight FIGURA ZOOM 25 9° – 25° profile luminaires x 14, Selecon Pacific x 10, 1 Spotlight VEDETTE 2500W COMPACT, and the Chamber Room in: DTS NICK 1201 WASH R RGBW x 12, DTS JACK SPOT x 12, Selecon RAMA PC reflectors x 12, Philips Selecon SPX profile luminaires x 24. Controlling of the three halls will be conducted via the british, ChamSys lighting consoles – MQ 300 PRO 2014 Execute, MQ 200 PRO 2014 and MQ 100 PRO 2014 EXPERT.
The ICE Kraków Congress Centre has also been equipped in the advanced dimmer and control signal transmission system. The technological lighting circuits include i.a.: 106 dual PATHWAY DMX/Ethernet Pathport switch panels, ETC SENSOR racks (relay and contactor modules) as well as fiber-optic modules.
Additionally, in the Theatre and Chamber Halls, P.S. TEATR was responsible for the stage machinery. The halls have been fitted with decoration stage barrels, speakers’ lifts, chain hoists, acoustic banners. All mechanical devices will be controlled from the central drive control unit via several AIDA by TEATR desktops. The whole system installed, makes the ICE Kraków Conference Centre to be one of the most state-of-the-art buildings in Poland.
