The Opera was founded in 1956 as a Szczecin’s Operetta of the Musical Theatre Friends Society. Two Years later, its name was changed into ‘Musical Theatre’. In 1978 the Ducal Castle in Szczecin becomes the theatre’s headquarters. In 2010 the renovation of the object began, together with the rebuild of the rooms. The renovation’s main object was to modernize the multifunctional theatre hall. In order to maintain the performance continuity, a special hall, at Energetyków St., had to be adopted. In November 2015, after the renovation which took 6 long years, the Opera at the Castle returned to the Ducal Castle. Just after the premiere show of Verdi’s Un ballo in maschera (A Masked Ball), the opinions on acoustics, technical inventory or the functionality of the whole object were very positive. Przedsiębiorstwo Specjalistyczne TEATR delivered and installed a complete stage lighting controlling system, based on the ETC consoles. In the theatre hall – Cobalt 10 and Cobalt 20, together with central repository for system configurations monitoring and storing lighting system parameters Net 3 Conduct, and in the Chamber room – the Congo Kid. The facility was also equipped in an advanced dimming system (theatre hall – Sensor 3, Chamber room – Smartpack).
In the Theatre hall there were more than 170 lighting devices installed, including 54 moving heads (among many others, MARTIN Quantum Wash and MARTIN Quantum Profile), 76 luminaires by ETC (42 pcs. of 750W Source Four profile reflectors and 43 pcs. of Source Four LED profile reflectors),
2 followspots Pharus 1200 and over 40 conventional lighting apparatuses Scena by DTS. The Chamber room was fitted with nearly 50 devices (including 20 750W Source Four by ETC profile reflectors and 12 conventional lighting Scena by DTS).
Both, the Theatre and Chamber room’s lighting control is performed by wall mounted dimmer modules Unison by ETC.
