The Opera Nova in Bydgoszcz is, established in 1956, an opera theatre, that is also taking the role of the musical theatre. It is one of the 10 opera stages in Poland, and only one of its type in the Kuyavia and Pomerania territory.
The Opera’s edifice is known in Europe for its unique shape, designed by architecture professor, Mr. Józef Chmiel (a long term head of the P.S. TEATR’s Architectural Design Studio). The building also holds a Regional Congress Center (designed by architecture professor, Mr. Józef Chmiel and doctor in architecture, Mr. Andrzej Prosiewicz), and since 2010 the facility lends its chamber room to the Puppet Theatre ‚Buratino’ from Bydgoszcz.
In the years 1988-2002 the P.S. TEATR performed a wide range of specialist works connected with the theatre’s technology, including: the stage technology devices designs elaboration, the delivery and installation of the stage adjusting and regulatory devices, professional technology lighting equipment, the stage machinery devices, the electrical stage drives system, as well as lighting, electroacoustic and driving installations.
